Sapar Contemporary is excited to invite you to the second edition of Art & Scent series: Exploring scents of American forests and art of Gabriela Albergaria -- a multi-sensory and immersive experience in collaboration with Amy Galper, Executive Director and Founder of New York Institute Of Aromatherapy. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the basics of the aroma-therapeutic elements of essential oils, set the context for a holistic encounter with our sense of smell, and uncover how the simple act of smelling can resonate with mind-body healing. The event will also pair unique essential oils distilled from the trees of the Northeastern forests of North America with the works of artist Gabriela Albergaria’s monumental drawings featuring Sweet Gum, Liriodendron Tulipifera and Sugar Maple Trees. With Amy Galper you will explore oils steam distilled from the needles of Pines, Firs, Spruces and Hemlock and learn about the significant array of therapeutic molecules in each essential oil we smell, and gain the skills to decipher their dynamic and robust aromatic profiles. A special highlight of this session is an opportunity to make an aromatic remedy, to soothe and cleanse the mind-body spirit, while deepening your relationship with plants. Space is limited.
